Service Description

Experience the heat of the glass furnace and learn how to make a glass paperweight. Class is for ages 12 and up, persons under 18 will need a guardian present. Each class may have up to 4 participants. Classes take place on most Fridays and Saturdays, start times ranging from 1pm-6:30pm. Use the form below or email sfgwashburn@gmail.com to request this class and we will reply with availability. Once a day/time is finalized, an invoice will be emailed to you to complete payment for the class. During this class, you will be taken through the steps of making a paperweight and then using the tools of the hot shop, you will manipulate and shape the glass to the desired shape. Class takes place at the Washburn hot shop (see your confirmation email after booking for location address/details). Items will need to cool, so they can be picked up the next day, at a later date, or shipped for an additional cost. Safety glasses/glasses (extra pairs are available to use at the studio) and closed-toe shoes are required while in the studio, cotton clothing is recommended. Classes are non-refundable (minus a few exceptions). Refer to the Class Policies/FAQ page for more details and please read them prior to booking or attending a class. A liability waiver will also need to be signed prior which will be available at the studio or you may print one off to review/sign in advance (located on the FAQ page).
