About Lori
Lori Anderson, glassblower/artist, has been learning the complex art of glassblowing since the year 2010, when she moved to the Chequamegon Bay area from Ely, MN. Her passion for glass has driven her to create her own studio in order to blow glass year-round on a daily basis, further her skills as a glassblower, sell to more local markets, and to be able to share this magical art form with others. Lori gathers inspiration from the environment around her and finds joy in using her imagination when creating glass. Living on the south shore of Lake Superior, she's drawn to the amazing beauty and energy from the great lake. Lori frequently like to incorporate the feelings of water into the shapes and colors of the glass pieces such as using blue and white tones and wavy or curved designs. The hope is that the piece can then evoke the same positive emotions and energy in others as well as bring awareness to our lake as a special resource.
Lori has a gallery and business operation space in downtown Washburn, WI at 123 W. Bayfield St. and is currently open by appointment only. The hot shop (production) studio and current class space is located approximately 3 miles northwest of the city of Washburn. Scarlet Fire Glassworks mission is to enrich the Chequamegon Bay community through exposure, enjoyment, education, and participation in the unique creative processes of hand blown glass art.
